SYRACUSE -- Time Warner Cable is sending out letters to customers this week letting them know about a new interactive, on-screen television guide for Digital Cable. The new guide called "Navigator" will start appearing automatically in homes on a rolling basis as of this week.
The new guide is a significant upgrade from the current listing of stations and programs available. It has a more refined graphic look that fits better in state of the art HD televisions. Navigator has improved search, a better information bar and makes it easier to find your favorite show.
Time Warner representatives say customers who use DVR will not lose any of their recorded shows when the automatic download takes place over the next couple of weeks. Employees with the cable company have tested Navigator for the last several months. A day or two after learning the basics they found it vastly superior to the old guide.
Navigator sets the stage for further entertainment and information upgrades in the future including remote programming of your DVR, DVR accessibility in multiple rooms and on screen internet access.
