LINCOLN, MADISON CO. -- Update
The Madison County Sheriff's Department says today's death at the county landfill appears accidental. Investigators say 30-year-old Vincent R. Unczur of Frankfort was in the process of dumping refuse from the rear hydraulic box of his ten wheel truck when the hydraulic box collapsed down on top of him. Investigators say another man rushed to Unczur's aid while a landfill worker called 911. The landfill employee used a backhoe bucket to raise the box and free Unczur.
Right now, it appears a mechanical failure is to blame. Unczur was employed with Feher Rubbish Removal of Utica, Inc.
The investigation is sitll continuing.
