Don’t Zone Out campaign urges drivers to be alert
This construction season, there is a new effort to keep you and road workers safe.
The Don't Zone Out campaign was started by the Civil Service Employees Association to caution drivers to observe speed limits and stay alert --- especially when driving in construction work zones.
Pete Niznik with the CSEA says the campaign that started in April is important for construction workers and drivers.
“We are trying to educate both our members and the members of the public,” he said.
Niznik is encouraging people to pledge with the Don't Zone Out program to stay safe and focus on driving --- not other activities. To support the campaign, stickers are available to place on car windows as a reminder to be cautious in work zones.
