VERNON -- Three pit bull puppies found on the side of a road and near death are being nursed back to health.   The puppies were discovered June 4th on a road inside the Quiet Valley Trailer Park in the Oneida County town of Vernon. Oneida County Sheriff's deputies charged Kevin J. Miller, 22, of Oneida with three counts of failing to provide sustenance to his dogs.  According to deputies, the dogs were kept in a trailer in Vernon, and  Miller had visited the animals infrequently. The three puppies escaped the trailer. It's not know how long they were outside without any food or water before they were discovered by the animal control officer.

the three puppies are recovering, eating well and gaining weight.
