SYRACUSE -- A wanted man from Atlanta was arrested in Syracuse Monday.
Atlanta Police say 26-year-old Oderrick Boone was arrested by FBI agents. Boone was wanted in connection with the brutal stabbing of a well known grocery store owner in Atlanta.
Baik Sung was known as Papa. He died Thursday morning. Police say he was stabbed several times during what looked like a robbery.
Atlanta Police say an anonymous tips call helped lead to the arrest. Crime Stoppers Atlanta offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Boone's arrest and indictment. Calls flooded into the center within minutes. Atlanta Police Major Keith Meadows says, "This is a perfect example of citizens and police working together to make our communities safer." He goes on to say, "It's important to take the criminal off the streets as soon as possible when a heinous crime like this occurs; it prevents countless other crimes they could otherwise continue to commit."
Boone was taken into custody in Syracuse without incident.
