SARANAC LAKE (AP) -- A 43-year-old man faces numerous charges after he was accused of striking and killing a 19-year-old skateboarder while driving a golf cart on a dark Adirondack road last month.
Bernard Farley of Saranac Lake was charged Wednesday with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, driving without a license, refusal to take an alcohol-screening breath test, and inadequate headlights and tail lamps.
Police say Casey McHugh of Lake Clear was riding his skateboard lying on his back around 10:30 p.m. June 23 when he was struck by Foley's golf cart.
Police found Farley at his home several hours after the accident.
Farley was arraigned in the Town of Santa Clara Court and released.
