It's summer in the northern hemisphere, and it doesn't matter where you live, whether Europe, China or right here in the good old United States, every once in awhile severe weather strikes. We've seen several instances of this right here in central New York over the past few weeks as temperatures rose into the 90s and strong thunderstorms popped up with even a couple of tornadoes in western NY just last week.
Certainly, anytime we get an actual tornado in upstate NY, even a small one, which they usually are, that's something we take note of. And thunderstorms, even without a tornado can certainly cause damage with micro bursts and straight line winds.
As a TV station, we'll head out after these storms and shoot some video of what the storms left behind. Usually, like last week, it consists of some power lines down or maybe a tree being blown over.
Although these photos locally can be interesting and somewhat impressive, honestly they are nothing compared to the photos you are about to see!

One personal note about photo number 19: is it just me, or when looking at that incredible photo, does it make your stomach just a little queasy like it does mine?
I wonder why that is? The fact that I have two daughters and they had a bike like that, or is it me just thinking about and wondering what happened to the little girl or boy who owned that bicycle? I wonder. Let me know what you think.
