It is getting harder and harder to get away with just about everything – including trying to get around local laws about what you can do around your home. A town on New York's Long Island is using Google Earth to find backyard pools that don't have the proper permits.

The town of Riverhead used the satellite image service to find about 250 pools whose owners never filled out the required paperwork. So far, about $75,000 in fees has been collected.

It turns out, this is happening overseas as well. Greece is doing it and finding violators. And back in 2008, a couple lost a lawsuit against Google after they claimed the internet company invaded their privacy.

Find out what just about anyone with an internet connection can learn about where you live by checking out  http://maps.google.com/ your own neighborhood.
