FORT DRUM, N.Y. (AP) -- Soldiers based at Fort Drum in northern New York are getting some reminders to be on their best behavior when hitting the local bars.

Officials at the home of the Army's 10th Mountain Division say two-member "courtesy patrols" will visit clubs, restaurants and bars in the Watertown area between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Fort Drum officials say the patrols will consist of a commissioned officer and noncommissioned officer who will wear their dress uniforms as well as special arm badges.

According to a statement released Thursday, the courtesy patrols are aimed at reminding soldiers to be on their best behavior while out in the community."

A Fort Drum spokeswoman says the patrols weren't triggered by an incident.
