SYRACUSE -- Syracuse police say a man crashed into a tree early this morning after his vehicle was shot.

Police say they responded to a shots fired complaint around 12:30 a.m. near West Brighton Avenue and Hope Avenue.  Police say 24-year-old Habakkuk Nickens, of Syracuse, was attempting to flee the area in his 1993 Lexus after multiple bullets struck his vehicle.

Nickens' vehicle then crashed into a tree at the intersection.  He suffered a laceration to his hand as he fled the scene on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Syracuse Police Criminal Investigation Division at 442-5222.
