VAN BUREN -- Three young people injured in a crash in Van Buren last weekend are doing better today. The fourth remains in critical condition.

The driver, Robert Smallwood, is still recovering at University Hospital from critical injuries. His three passengers are now in fair condition. Alexis Trapp, 18, Kelly Nolan, 21 and Brandon Hare, 19, are all doing better.

State police say Smallwood lost control on Village Boulevard North, slamming into a tree Sunday night, critically injuring himself and injuring his three passengers.

Police are still looking into what caused the crash.
