TOWN OF SULLIVAN --
Friends and family members gathered Thursday to honor and celebrate the life of a teen who touched the lives of many people.
Caleb Wood, 15, of Sullivan was killed in a crash between an ATV and an SUV Thursday morning. It happened just before 6:00 am at the intersection of Creek and Quarry Roads in the Town of Sullivan.
Caleb's friends say he was on his way to work when the crash happened. He milks cows at local dairy farms. Those who know him say he is a very hard worker.
"He would get up in the early morning, and he would work all day into the evening late. He was just an amazing kid," says his aunt, Ellen Goebel.
Caleb was passionate about his friends, family, and a 1984 Camaro he was putting together piece by piece. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, or any other outdoor activity.
"He did everything for everybody, whenever you needed him for help with working on cars. He knew everything," says his friend Jimmy Swagler. "He was always there."
Caleb also made a positive impression at Chittenango High School, where he was a student.
"He was loyal, loved his family, absolutely passionate about the things he believed in, and tons of fun," says Assistant Principal Amy Bailey.
The school is offering counseling services starting tomorrow to any students who need it.
Madison County deputies are investigating the accident. There were no charges filed against the driver of the SUV.
