Deputy was tracking smoke plume
FLOYD, ONEIDA CO. -- An Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy was tracking a plume of smoke from Verona on Friday evening, when he came upon a camp explosion behind the Camroden Golf Course in the Town of Floyd.
Deputy Brian Warcup says he found members of the Bamberger family on the scene assessing the damage. He was told a newly purchased propane-driven refrigerator had just been running and was turned off, when the explosion happened.
The camp was flattened and burned.
