BINGHAMTON (AP) -- A former Binghamton University employee who says she was used by athletics department officials as a sexual "plaything" to try to get money from potential donors has reached a $280,000 settlement with the university.
Elizabeth Williams, who was a fundraiser for Binghamton University's athletics department, and the Manhattan law firm that represented her will each get $140,000. That's more than twice her annual salary of $61,800.
As part of the agreement, all accusations were dropped and Williams resigned from her position.
Williams accused two university athletic department officials and two alumni of making inappropriate sexual advances toward her during fundraising events.
