SYRACUSE -- A newlywed couple will come home from their honeymoon to a destroyed apartment.

A fire started in a two family home on North Lowell Avenue in Syracuse's Tipp Hill neighborhood Friday evening. Firefighters say when they got to the scene, there were flames on the second floor, where the couple lives, and in the attic. The attic was filled with storage, which made it tough for firefighters to move around.

One person was home downstairs when the fire started, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters say the second floor and the attic suffered severe damage, and it's likely all the newlywed couple's possessions were destroyed.

Fire investigators are still looking for a cause.
