90% of holiday travelers will go by car
AAA's Labor Day outlook shows that more people plan to travel on the long holiday weekend. According to Diana Dibble of the Western & Central New York chapter, about ten percent more Americans will be traveling---34.4 million (up 4 million from last year) will be going more than 50 miles away from home.
Dibble says stress-relievers for the trip include having a route plan, and an alternative in case of traffic jams or detours.
Also traveling at off-peak times will avoid congestion.
And, fuel is expected to cost less--prices have already dropped in the Syracuse area, and are expected to go down even more after Labor Day.
