NYS FAIRGROUNDS -- It's a beautiful afternoon for the third day of the Great New York State Fair. If you haven't left yet, you might want to do so.
Attendance this year is up significantly. At the 2 p.m. check, more than 52,500 people had made their way through the turnstiles. That's an increase of more than 18,000 people from last year.
It's also contributing to major delays on 690 West from Syracuse heading into the Fairgrounds.
There's a lot planned this afternoon if you are heading over. Adam Richman's free cooking show is at 2 p.m. at Chevy Court. Later tonight at 8 p.m., Styx takes the stage at Chevy Court for a free concert. Also at 8 p.m., Rihanna makes her way to the Grandstand for one of the biggest acts of the State Fair. Tickets are still on sale and cost $45 and $55. DJ Ross Rosco will open for Rihanna at the Grandstand starting at 7:30 p.m.
