GEDDES -- Luana Impellizzeri of Jamesville, Runner-Up, 2010 New York State Fair
--Luana won the red ribbon and a $200 cash award in the Chocolate Championship held at the New York State Fair. Luana was a 1st time winner into the Chocolate Championship and she placed second among 35 entries.
--The judges were looking for the most decadent chocolate recipe for a dessert or treat.
--Recipes were judged for Taste - Overall and Chocolate Taste (40%), Originality/Creativity (30%), Appearance (20%) and Ease of Preparation (10%).
--Winners received $400, $200 and $100 for 1st – 3rd place, plus all three winners received a Ghirardelli Chocolate Gift Basket.

Decadent Chocolate Peanut Butter Indulgence
Chocolate Shells:
2 bars (8 ounces) Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate
1 bar (4 ounces) Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate
Filling:
32 large marshmallows
1-1/2 cups milk
1 (4 ounce) bar Ghirardelli 70% Cacao Extra Bittersweet Chocolate
1/2 cup all natural peanut butter
1-1/2 cups heavy cream
Garnish:
Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate
Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares, Milk & Peanut Butter
- Coat the inside of individual serving size molds with the melted chocolate. Chill the molds in the refrigerator until the chocolate has "set." Remove from molds and store shells in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- Filling: Heat marshmallows and milk in the top of a double boiler, stirring constantly, until marshmallows are melted.
- Break the Ghirardelli chocolate in pieces and add to marshmallow mixture. Stir until chocolate is melted. Add the peanut butter. Stir until smooth.
- Allow the chocolate mixture to cool.
- Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the cooled chocolate mixture into the whipped cream. Spoon into prepared shells or use a pastry bag to fill shells. Refrigerate.
- Dust with Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate and garnish with Ghirardelli Squares, Milk & Peanut Butter before serving.
Makes 8 servings.
