SYRACUSE -- Hundreds turned out Saturday afternoon to help a Newleywed couple back on their feet. Adam and Molly Lutwin lost almost everything they owned, after flames ripped through their Tipperary Hill apartment last week. The two were on their honeymoon when they got word of the fire, the couple cut their trip short to get back to Syracuse and pick up the pieces. "We're going to be fine, and no one was in there and that's all that matters," said Molly Lutwin.
The Lutwins say they have been overwhelmed with financial, and emotional support from family, friends and even strangers. The benefit was held at the Blarney Stone, just a few blocks away from the couple's former flat on North Lowell Avenue. But with the help of neighbors, the newleyweds are already starting a new life, and have moved into a new home in the same neighborhood.
"The greatest thing about today is just seeing everybody, we haven't seen some people in a while and people are saying well of course we would be here. It just really means a lot to us, it means the most to us. I just saw my 4th grade teacher, it's amazing that people are here for us. It's really just why we live here and why we are so blessed to be in this community," said Adam Lutwin.
