CICERO -- Visitors to Cicero-North Syracuse High School will have to have their drivers licenses scanned in order to get into the building.
The district is using a new computer software security program called the "Raptor", to help monitor visitors. C-NS head of security Larry Butler says the new security system is already being used in the districts six elementary schools with good success.
"This gives us an up to date list of who is in the building, who has been there and who's left so we can make sure we have everybody accounted for," Butler says.
The Raptor Security System also instantly alerts the district a registered sex offender or someone else who isn't supposed to be at the school, tries to get on campus.
"It just alerts us that we might be having somebody trying to get on campus that we need to keep a close eye on or deny access altogether if they have no legitimate reason for being here," he says.
