SYRACUSE -- Syracuse police are reminding people of traffic delays in the city due a number of events.
From police:
Due to the IRONMAN 70.3 Erie Blvd East will have lane restrictions and left turns will be prohibited at some intersections. Athletes will be running in a traffic lane, which will be marked off by cones and barricades. North Salina St will also have lane restrictions and the center turn lane will be made into the north bound lane of traffic. There will be no left turn lane for either direction of traffic while the IRONMAN 70.3 is taking place. Westbound traffic on Court St from North Salina St to Solar St and on W. Kirkpatrick St from Solar to Van Renesselaer St will be restricted and if necessary detoured to Bear St.
The runners will have the right of way and drivers should anticipate delays, the use of alternate routes is encouraged.
ITALIAN FEST
The Italian Fest continues in the area of City Hall. E. Washington St from Warren St to S. State will be closed to all traffic, as will Montgomery St from Water St through E. Fayette St.
DINOSAUR BBQ BLOCK PARTY
Due to the Dinosaur BBQ's Block Party W. Willow St between N. Franklin and N. Clinton St will be closed for the day. Additionally the Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer motorcycle ride will be leaving from the Dinosaur BBQ at 11:00 AM and returning to the Dinosaur BBQ at approx 12:30 PM. There are expected to be 500 motorcycles participating in the ride. Expect traffic delays in the area of the Dinosaur prior to 11:00 AM while the ride sets up.
