Advice: avoid 81, use 481 to Skytop parking
Expect delays getting to, and coming from the Dome because of Route 81 construction detours in downtown Syracuse. Syracuse Police are expecting major delays both before the 3:30 kickoff, and in getting fans back home after the SU-Colgate game.
To avoid route 81 traffic delay police urge you to use the Ainsley Drive entrance to the Skytop parking complex ---get there on route 481 to exit 1 (E. Brighton Av) and follow the DOME parking signs to Ainsley Dr. Skytop parking is $10.00 and includes free shuttle busing to and from the game.
Fans should anticipate lengthy delays leaving the DOME. Due to the route 81/Harrison St on ramp closure exiting traffic will be slow. To manage traffic the Syracuse Police may detour traffic away from the Harrison St/Almond St/route 81 interchange. To avoid traffic delays fans might want to travel south on route 81 to route 481 north, or make their way to Erie Blvd east, to Teall Av or Midler Av. Then take route 690 west to route 81 north or route 690 east to route 481 north.
The Syracuse Police Department will be strictly enforcing the parking regulations around the DOME. Illegally parked vehicles can be ticketed and towed. Ticket and towing fees can exceed $150.00.
