UTICA -- Police in Utica are on the lookout for a suspect after a cab driver was shot Sunday night.

According to Utica Police, officers responded around 11:20 p.m. Sunday to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Louisa Street. Once police arrived they found the victim, 29-year-old Jonathon Davis of Utica, with a single gunshot wound. Davis was taken first to a Utica-area hospital, and then transported to Syracuse for further treatment.

Police say their investigation revealed that Davis was driving a Courtesy Cab taxi at the time of the shooting and was in the neighborhood to pick up a fare.

Police are asking that anyone with information on this case call 315-223-3510. They say calls can be kept confidential.
