SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police have arrested a man in the city's latest homicide.
Police say Denys Almeida stabbed another man at least 17 times over clothing.
Investigators say Alexis Madera-Duenas was visiting his girlfriend on Bellevue Avenue Wednesday night when Almeida showed up. Almeida started arguing with the woman who was actually his former girlfriend. Somehow, Duenas got involved and the men took their argument outside. That's when Almeida allegedly stabbed Duenas.
According to investigators, Almeida confessed to the crime.
Duenas was taken to Upstate University Hospital and pronounced dead about a half an hour later.
