Money to benefit children's cancer research
NYS FAIRGROUNDS -- The 1st Annual CureSearch Walk to benefit children's cancer research was a success, raising $33,000 this morning at the New York State Fairgrounds.
CureSearch for Children's Cancer funds the research of the Children's Oncology Group at more than 200 hospitals nationwide, including SUNY Upstate Medical University. Those efforts have helped to increase the overall cure rate for children's cancers from 10% 40 years ago to 78% today. The goal is a 100% cure rate.
CNY Central's Michael Benny was on hand this morning as emcee.
