OSWEGO -- Two women have been arrested in connection with daytime burglaries in the City of Oswego. On Monday, police arrested 19-year-old Amber Wheeler and 20-year-old Stephanie Burnett.
Police executed a search warrant Friday at their West Van Buren Street home as part of their ongoing investigation into a string of daytime burglaries. Wheeler and Burnett were charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree for their involvement in a September 27th residential burglary.
Oswego City Police Chief Michael J. Dehm, Jr. says "We believe that these two suspects are responsible for a number of other daytime burglaries in the City of Oswego. We are continuing our investigation and are asking for help from the public. These two females have been reportedly observed knocking on doors in area neighborhoods, specifically, in the area of West 8th Street near Tallman or Erie Streets. If anyone has any information, or has actually observed these females knocking on doors in their neighborhood please contact Oswego Police Investigators at (315) 342-8130. I would also like to credit the officers and investigators who put in numerous man-hours into this investigation with a job well done."
