SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police have announced an arrest in the shooting death of a teenager.

32-year-old Tommy Davis is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Kiwan Rush. Davis is also charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say Rush was shot and killed early Thursday morning along the 100 block of Eastman Avenue. They say Rush was walking with several others when Davis came around the corner and started firing at the group. They believe Rush was the target of the ambush, and believe Rush and Davis are linked in some way.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim unconscious in a driveway. He later died at Upstate University Hospital.

Police say Rush had a shotgun on hand at the time of the incident. Authorities are still looking into whether any additional shots were fired by anyone in the group.

At last check, Rush was listed as a student at Henninger High School
