12 year old sister survives canoe capsize
A boy is dead, but his sister was rescued after their canoe capsized on Friday evening. Lewis County Sheriffs Deputies say the two were on the flooded flat lands off the Ridge Road in Lowville when the canoe tipped. A rescue boat picked up the 12 year old girl, but by the time the boat got to the ten year old boy, he was face down in the water, and was pronounced dead at Lewis County General Hospital. Names have not been released yet, as the investigation continues.
