AUBURN -- An Auburn man is under arrest after police say he threatened his ex-girlfriend and was storing a small arsenal of weapons in his home.
According to the Auburn Police Department, at approximately 8:20 Monday night officers were dispatched to a home on Dayton Street for a complaint of an ‘unwanted guest’. A 911 call from the alleged victim’s father had indicated that her ex-boyfriend, 18-year-old Jake Ryan Condes, had kicked in the front door to the home and was in possession of a knife and possibly a handgun. Police say the alleged victim, whose name was not released, fled to the attic and locked herself inside until police arrived, at which point Condes had reportedly left the premises.
Police say that later on that night they were able to contact Condes and get him to come to police headquarters for an interview. Police also responded to Condes’ home on Sheridan Street where he lives with his mother. Condes’ mother allowed police to search the home, where officers found several weapons including a nine millimeter semi-automatic handgun, an AK-47 rifle, a pistol grip pump action shotgun, a collapsible baton, metal knuckles, a metal knuckle knife, and a stun gun.
Condes has been charged with six counts of criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of burglary, one count of menacing, and one count of criminal mischief. He was arraigned in Auburn City Court Tuesday morning and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail on $5,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 bond.
