CAMILLUS -- New York State Police tell CNY Central that they are investigating a fatal accident involving a farm tractor in the Town of Camillus.
Police say around 11:30 Wednesday morning 58-year-old Andrew G. Malar of Lakeside Road in the Town of Camillus was killed when his tractor overturned on him. According to Troopers, Malar and a friend were trying to clear a path through the woods behind Malar's residence. They tried to remove a large fallen tree by pulling it with a chain attached to the tractor. The tractor flipped over backwards on top of Malar, pinning him beneath.
An autopsy will be conducted Thursday by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office.
State Police were assisted by the Geddes Police Department, Onondaga County Sheriff's Department. Lakeside Fire Department, and Baldwinsville Fire Department.
