A nor'easter that's formed off North Carolina is sparking warnings for the Mid-Atlantic.
Marine advisories are up along the Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey coasts. Gale warnings were issued earlier for Maryland to Massachusetts.
The storm is expected to bring strong winds, large hail and heavy rain. Much of the rain is expected to finish by tomorrow morning, but the National Weather Service says strong winds and clouds will stick around through Saturday.
Here's what CNY Central meteorologist Peter Hall is saying about how this storm will impact our weather:
"A flood watch remains in effect for Oneida, Herkimer, Otsego counties and points east into eastern New York. This is in anticipation of a nor'easter that will develop into tonight, Friday and Friday night. Latest information suggests that the heaviest rainfall later tonight and Friday may end up in extreme eastern New York and New England. Still, though, we will need to watch this system carefully.
Otherwise, we may be able to sneak in a half way decent day. Filtered partial sunshine will lead to increasing and thickening cloud coverage. While a shower may brush the eastern Lake Ontario counties this morning, the best chance for any rainfall will be late this afternoon. With a delay in the arrival of showers, temperatures may be able to hit 60°. Wind: E to SE 5-15 MPH."
