SYRACUSE -- It's game day in Syracuse and there's a lot of excitement surrounding the SU football program, something we haven't seen in quite some time.
In recent years, Syracuse fans have been gearing up for the start of basketball season. But not this year -- the Orange has started the season 4-1. That marks best start since 1999 when the Orange, coincidentally, beat Pitt to improve to 5-1.
Syracuse hasn't exactly gone up against murderer's row, racking up wins against Akron, Maine, Colgate and South Florida. But the fast start has Syracuse fans optimistic and should make for a special atmosphere inside the Dome.
SU battles Pitt at noon inside the Carrier Dome. If you're heading to the game, get there early because traffic will be a mess. If not, you can catch the action on Time Warner Cable Sports.
