Hill towns south of the Thruway saw accumulation

I have been telling you that it was coming.  All week I was mentioning that Friday morning could be a little interesting in areas that live in the higher elevations south of Syracuse and the Thruway corridor.  Specifically, I mentioned some very light snow accumulation of a coating to up to 1” on lawns of the higher hills of central and southern Cayuga, southern Onondaga, southern Madison, northern Cortland, northern Chenango, and Otsego counties.  It looks like the forecast was on target.  I have received 2 pictures from our weather watchers that reside in those areas.  The first one was from Ed Caro in Tully and the second was from Douglas Trush in the town of Nelson.  Official National Weather Service reports show Morrisville received 0.6" of snow and Freetown in Cortland county received 0.1". Maybe you took a digital picture of the snow this morning.  If you did, we would love to see it

First, let us know if you received any snow flying in the air this morning and if it briefly accumulated by commenting at the bottom of this web story. If you would like to send us pictures, you can e-mail us your at news@cnycentral.com or weather@cnycentral.com and by going to the MyCNYcentral and share them with everyone on our website.

Your submitted digital weather pictures are very helpful to the meteorologists here at CNYcentral. By helping us out, you are helping out everyone here in central New York who would like to know exactly who received snowfall.  Thanks, in advance, for your help!

For more on your weather forecast, click on “Weather” and then the “Live Triple Doppler Radar” tab on our weather page.  Make sure you refresh the Doppler radar to see the very latest information, as well.  Furthermore, we have our new Interactive Doppler Radar on our website.  You can zoom down to street level with Interactive Doppler Radar.  You are in total control of where the radar can zoom in.  Give it a try.  Plus, click on our Severe Weather Tab and our Watches and Warnings map to see the very latest county specific watches and warnings.  In addition, you can “follow” along with me on Twitter by either clicking on the “follow” button on the Twitter section of our weather page or by visiting www.twitter.com/PeteWeatherBeat.
