AUBURN -- Auburn Police say they've arrested a sex offender thanks to some of your tips.
Michael Dwyer was taken into custody around 1:30 this afternoon without incident.
Police say he was hiding out in the woods behind Fingerlakes Mall.
Dwyer was wanted for intimidating a witness and unlawfully dealing with a child.

The Auburn Police Department is currently looking for the public's assistance with the location of Michael Walter Dwyer who is wanted on an arrest warrant out of Auburn City Court for intimidating a witness/victim 3rd degree.
Dwyer is also wanted for unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree.
Dwyer was last known to be staying at the Chapel House at 36 Franklin Street in the City of Auburn, NY but has not been seen there in a couple of days.
The details surrounding the issuance of these warrants will not be disclosed at this time in order to protect the victim involved in this investigation.

Information has been developed that Dwyer may be in possession of an unknown type of handgun. Therefore, do not attempt to apprehend or approach this subject, as he should be considered armed and dangerous.
