SYRACUSE -- A local architecture firm is unveiling a new sustainable green roof made possible thanks to a $100,000 grant from Onondaga County.
King + King Architects showed off the new roof at its downtown Syracuse headquarters Monday. The 12,000 square foot sustainable roof is one of only a few, specially designed green infrastructures locally.
It will help absorb storm water, reducing input into the municipal system. Because of that, the firm says it will help the county avoid building any new costly sewage treatment plants.
King + King Architects is the oldest architectural firm in New York State and the fourth oldest in the country.
