Police will be out in full force looking for drunk drivers over the Halloween weekend. They'll be stepping up patrols from now through November 1st to keep you safe.
This will mark the sixth of seven STOP-DWI crackdown periods across the state this year. Local law enforcement agencies will be out in force, setting up sobriety checkpoints to keep the roads safe.
Keep in mind, you can be arrested if you're driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher.
STOP-DWI, or "Special Traffic Options Program for Driving While Intoxicated," is a comprehensive safety program.
The other crackdown periods are: February 1st - February 8th, Super Bowl; March 9th - March 18th, St. Patrick's Day; May 27th - June 1st, Memorial Day; June 21st - July 5th, Fourth of July; August 20th - September 6th, National Over the Limit-Under Arrest Enforcement; and November 16th - January 2nd, Holiday Season.
