CICERO -- A musky odor within Cicero-North Syracuse High School caused an early dismissal Friday morning.
The district administration released students at 9:35 a.m. due to the unpleasant, but non-hazardous smell. One student told CNY Central that the odor smelled like "Play-Doh".
The district says water drainage from the building's cooling system on Thursday caused the odor to spread overnight.
North Syracuse School Superintendent Dr. Jerry Melvin tells CNY Central that they are pumping fresh air throughout the building in an effort to remove the smell, and do not expect this to interfere with classes Monday morning.
The school was already scheduled to have a half day Friday because of staff workshops.
