110+ local growers & producers will 'show off'
GEDDES -- 'Buy local' takes another step this fall with the Pride of New York Harvest Fest.
Samples of New York wine and beer as well as food, from meats and cheeses to sauces and marinades, to ice cream, baked goods, honey and maple products, organics and much more will be offered for the price of admission at the State Fairgrounds. Fair Director Dan O'Hara says many of the items will also be available for purchase in larger quantities, and there will also be cooking demonstrations and food, wine and beer education seminars.
Last year's event, the first in Syracuse, drew 4,000+ visitors. This year's at the Fairgrounds, is Saturday, November 6, 10am - 5pm, and Sunday November 7, noon - 5pm. There's also an Albany edition, Nov. 13 and 14.
For more on who's coming and offering samples check the Pride of New York website or call 518-457-7229.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and include samples as well as one seminar.
