TOWN OF CLAY -- A Clay woman is homeless tonight after a fire did significant damage to her Morgan Road home in the Town of Clay.

A neighbor reported the fire shortly before 6:30 pm Saturday.

Clay Fire Chief Dan Ford says the fire started in the kitchen, but firefighters were able to contain it to two rooms and knock it down in ten minutes.

The woman who lives there was not home at the time.  She is being assisted by the Red Cross tonight.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
