Backyard birdwatchers are invited to sign up for Project FeederWatch to help track bird trends.  Dr. David Bonter, with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, says the program is in its 24th year, and is 'citizen science'--people counting numbers
and different species of birds to help researchers.
The $15 fee covers a handbook, an id poster, a calendar, and the summary of findings. The FeederWatch season starts November 13th and runs through April, though you can join at any time.
Bonter says the birds are tracked because they are an indicator of the health of our environment.
