SYRACUSE (AP) -- Drivers headed east on the Thruway between Auburn and Syracuse could see some delays this morning.
The state Thruway Authority says a brief rolling road block will take place in both eastbound lanes between Exit 40 at Weedsport and Exit 39 at I-690 in Syracuse due to construction.
The rolling road block will occur sometime between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. It is expected to last less than 15 minutes and cause minor to moderate delays.
In other Thruway news, the Thruway Authority says work has been completed on an innovative wetlands project near a state park outside Buffalo.
The project involved the creation of three new acres of wetlands in Evangola State Park on the Lake Erie shoreline in southern Erie County. Thruway Authority officials say the new acres of wetlands compensate for a road reconstruction this year on nearby Interstate 90 that impacted about two acres of marshland.
The agency says the new wetlands will be a key component in the area's ecosystem by helping sustain a wildlife habitat for migrating waterfowl and nesting bird species and a winter home for amphibians.
The wetlands at the park feature walking trails and interpretive signs.
Funding for the project was included in the $91 million cost for the I-90 construction.
