SYRACUSE -- Solvay Police report a defendant being transported to the Justice Center Jail escaped from a village police car at 3:30 this morning.
Jose Medina, 24, who was arrested on a bench warrant ,was being transported to the jail when he managed to roll down a rear window of the police car and climb out while the car was moving in the vicinity of South Townsend and Harrison Streets.
Solvay and Syracuse police searched the area, and found Medina in a nearby parking lot. He's now facing an additional charge of escape in the third degree.
