SYRACUSE -- A gas main break left passengers waiting in line at Hancock Airport in Syracuse.

Officials from the airport tell CNYcentral a construction crew hit the gas line this afternoon. Crews are working on Phase 1 of the terminal security project. The accident happened in an area that was away from the general public.

Some planes had to be directed to different gates because of the incident. One passenger we spoke with says he has been waiting an line for an hour.

Airport officials say Hancock is working on getting back to normal operations. That should happen in a few hours.
