Day, evening of events planned
The Clinton Square tree lighting is the Friday after Thanksgiving, and this year 'Home for the Holidays' is the theme.
Mary Beth Roach, from Syracuse Parks, says the tree lighting is only part of the celebration:
>The Clinton Square Ice Rink also opens for the season on Friday, with free skating noon - 9pm, including during the tree lighting.
>Choirs will perform at the Landmark Theatre lobby ahead of the ceremony
>The tree lighting festivities start at 6:30 (earlier than past years!). People are asked to bring non perishable food for the Food Bank of CNY.
>City Hall open house, 7:15 - 8:30pm
>Bad sweater party, at the Landmark, 7 - 9pm
>Yule Log lighting, Hanover Square after the tree lighting
>Art Mart open til 9pm in City Hall Commons Atrium.
