Price of gas not a deterrent, according to survey
More people are expected to travel this Thanksgiving holiday, and more travelers will be using their cars to get there.
Diana Dibble, with AAA, says their surveys show more people are comfortable with money and the economy this year.
They expect 11.4% more travelers, about 42.2 million people, will be going 50+ miles from home, 94% of them by car.
AAA's website has tips on getting there with less stress, including mapping out routes and alternates (in case of accidents or construction), realistic time projections, and how to travel comfortably with pets and family.
Dibble says that even though gas prices are higher this year than last, people seem to be willing to spend---82% of those surveyed say they'll be visiting friends or family, cutting the expense of hotels, so the overall cost is less, even with paying more per gallon.
