MARCY -- State police say a body found in woods along a bike path near Utica has been identified as a 46-year-old woman missing since March 2009.

Volunteers with the Eagle Valley Search Dogs found the remains along the Erie Canal bike path in the town of Marcy on Oct. 30. DNA testing confirmed the body was that of Laura Pickard of Whitesboro.

Pickard was last seen walking in the village of Whitesboro on March 7, 2009. Police say the cause of death was undetermined, but there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Pickard is the second missing woman from the Mohawk Valley to be located by the Eagle Valley Search Dogs. The team also located the remains of 44-year-old Lisa Bawolak of Herkimer in August.
