We are a toy dropoff point at 1030 James St.
The Mattydale-based Marines who coordinate this area's Toys for Tots say they have many more requests, at this point, than they can fulfill. Toys for Tots works year-round, fundraising through golf tournaments and other charity events, and area coordinator Staff Sargent Jesse Morgan says at this time of year the Marines also count on people dropping off new, unwrapped toys at boxes in close to 400 area businesses. From a distribution point in the Syracuse suburbs, the Marines send toys as far south as Elmira, and up to the Canadian border.
CNYCentral has been a dropoff point for schools, businesses and individuals who want to help, for years, and this year we are adding a drop-off event: on Thursday, December 16th you can drive through our parking lot at 1030 James Street, Syracuse, which the C&S Companies are setting us as a 'mini Lights on the Lake'---we will have hot chocolate and a visit with Santa to thank you for your donations of new, unwrapped toys. Of course, if you cannot make it on December 16th, we will gladly accept your donations up til the weekend before Christmas.
