BUFFALO (AP) -- Lawyers are scheduled to update a federal judge in Buffalo about the dozens of lawsuits filed following the 2009 crash of Continental Connection Flight 3407 near Buffalo.
A status conference is scheduled for Thursday in U.S. District Court.
Pilot error has been blamed for the crash onto a house in the suburb of Clarence that killed all 49 aboard the plane and a man in the house.
Passenger families suing Continental Airlines, flight operator Colgan Air and others won a victory in October when Judge William Skretny said they can use the cockpit voice recording at the wrongful death trial in 2012, rather than just the written transcript.
Families of at least five passengers have reached out-of-court settlements and more are expected as the case moves along.
