LAFAYETTE -- Snowy and blustery weather this morning wreaked havoc for commuters along Interstate 81, as police and rescue crews were on the scene of two separate accidents on the busy highway.

Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies tell CNY Central the first crash took place on I-81 north. A tractor-trailer slid off the road and ended up in the median south of the LaFayette exit around 6:25 a.m. The truck jackknifed, with the cab coming to rest along the northbound guardrail and the trailer along the southbound lane.

The second crash happened in the southbound lane around 8:00 a.m. A tractor trailer truck rear-ended a black car north of the LaFayette exit.

These crashes have caused delays for drivers in both directions. We’re told tow trucks and emergency personnel are working to clean up both vehicles.

No inuries have been reported in either incident.
