Woman hit by car on West Genesee Street

SOLVAY -- 7:40pm update:

Police are expecting to open West Genesee Street shortly. Investigators are cleaning up the scene after an accident just after six o'clock.

Officers tell CNYcentral a woman was walking on the street when she was hit by a car. Police say she is now listed in stable condition at the hospital. Investigators have not released her name yet.

Police have closed off part of West Genesee Street in Solvay because of a crash. Officers have put up barricades stopping cars at Myrtle Street and Charles Avenue near Westvale Plaza.

So far, police have not released any information about what happened.
